Frankfurt is a multifaceted city, fashionably displaying sykscrapers, while the old quarter ignites the time traveller's imagination. This tour begins at the Old Opera House, a symbol of Frankfurt's rich past and architectural elegance, built in neo-renaissance style in 1869. This landmark recounts the city's dramatic historical shifts, with the first ever performance of Mozart's "Don Giovanni", being staged in its magnificent halls back in 1880. Crossing over the road into the city, we will reach the "Freßgass", the "eatery road" and parallel to that on the right, runs the city's luxury fashion district, reminiscent of haute couture's golden days. Baron von Rothschild guides us through the era surrounding WWII. You'll then visually experience Frankfurt's local glass flavour of apple cider, before crossing the Peace Bridge over the Main river to dive into the city’s rich art and sculptural history. Taking a stroll along the Iron Bridge, our walk concludes at the Imperial Cathedral.
