Since the waves are located before the barrier reef, it is necessary to go far from the coast. Bali est-elle sûre ?

Bali est globalement sûre ; la route reste le danger numéro un. Les crimes violents sont rares, mais méfiez-vous des pickpockets, des alcools frelatés et des faux taxis. Les urgences parlent un anglais basique. Gardez toujours une pièce d'identité sur vous et anticipez le jour de Nyepi, où toute l'île et son aéroport s'arrêtent net pendant 24 heures.

Dangers de la circulation

Sur les routes saturées où le deux-roues domine, le Code reste très souple. Portez un casque, ne roulez jamais alcoolisé ou de nuit, et louez les services d'un chauffeur si vous manquez d'aisance face à la circulation locale.

Alcool frelaté

Les alcools de contrebande, comme l'arak frelaté, causent des intoxications mortelles au méthanol. Ne buvez que dans des bars de confiance. Stoppez tout et donnez l'alerte dès qu'un verre a un goût trop sucré ou suspect de produit chimique.

Restrictions de Nyepi

Pour le Nouvel An balinais (Nyepi), l'île s'arrête 24 h : sorties interdites, lumières éteintes, commerces et aéroport fermés. Les touristes doivent rester à l'hôtel sous la surveillance de patrouilles locales.

Vapotage et tabac

Cigarettes électroniques et vapoteuses sont illégales partout en Indonésie et sujettes à confiscation. Le tabac classique est omniprésent, mais banni de certains lieux clos. Fuyez les produits vendus à la sauvette.

Pièce d'identité obligatoire

Gardez sur vous un passeport ou sa photocopie. La police contrôle les identités, surtout après un accident, et punit les oublis d'une amende. Donnez un second double de précaution à votre compagnon de voyage.

Temples et coutumes locales

Portez le sarong fourni et une tenue décente dans les temples. Ne marchez pas sur les offrandes au sol (canang sari). L'ivresse sur la voie publique et les maillots échancrés hors de la plage sont très mal tolérés.

Plafonds de retrait aux distributeurs

Les distributeurs limitent souvent les retraits à 2,5 ou 3 millions d'IDR. Emportez plusieurs cartes et refusez la conversion dynamique. Choisissez les banques officielles ou les changeurs arborant le label Peci.

Fermetures lors des fêtes religieuses

Les boutiques modifient leurs horaires ou ferment pour Galungan, Kuningan et Nyepi. Le rythme ralentit aussi le matin en zone musulmane pendant le ramadan. Planifiez repas et déplacements durant ces fêtes.
