Safety
Assisi is generally safe. Take care on steep slopes, polished stone, heat and crowded basilica approaches; respect religious spaces and call 112.
Allow extra time for slopes and stairs, and use the flatter approach where possible.
Much of the historic centre restricts vehicles; park outside and walk or use transit.
Dress respectfully, follow quiet rules and keep belongings secure in crowds.
