Cafés and local foodJeżyce has a distinct local identity, pre-war streets and an active food scene. It feels less postcard-centred than Stare Miasto and is a short tram or walk away.

More space, local feelWilda mixes residential streets, industrial heritage and access toward the green areas around Dębina. It is less central, so expect more tram or walking time.

Is Poznań safe?
Poznań is a straightforward city-break destination. Use normal urban precautions around transport hubs, crowded trams and nightlife; call 112 for emergencies, or 997 police, 999 ambulance and 998 fire. [S7] [S13]

In crowded trams, around the railway station and on busy central streets, keep phones and wallets in a zipped bag and be alert to distraction theft.

At noon, two mechanical goats emerge above the Town Hall clock and butt horns twelve times — a small Poznań ritual worth timing your walk around. [S3]
St Martin’s Day and the croissant
On 11 November, a procession and city celebrations honour St Martin; the local crescent-shaped croissant tradition is protected by an EU designation and official certificates. [S4] [S5]
