The Cheapest Coworking Spaces in Copenhagen
Last updated: October 2026
Intro
Two things on older Copenhagen coworking lists need checking. The Royal Library's visit page shows the Black Diamond open until 20:00 every weekday, but its live hours page showed a 16:30 close on Friday 9 October, so look at the day you plan to go. And a 2025 guide puts a day at Zoku with lunch at 199 kroner, where Zoku now charges 245. Here is what works, with prices checked in October 2026 and quoted in kroner including 25% Danish VAT.
Ciceru also runs a self-guided Copenhagen walk in its app, with a story and a quiz question at each stop and a free 500 MB global eSIM. It starts at Rådhuspladsen, in the centre.
⚡ Quick answer
- Best free option: the Black Diamond (Royal Library), free to enter, with wifi through KB-Guest. Only the Research Reading Room is named as needing an ID card
- Cheapest day pass: Zoku, 115 kr without lunch, 245 kr with lunch, both including VAT
- Best for a few hours in the centre: Republikken, 150 kr for up to four hours, 250 kr for up to eight, coffee included, no booking
- Main warning: Copenhagen's public libraries run self-service hours for Danish card holders, and a library card needs a CPR number, so plan around staffed hours
- Hours catch: the Black Diamond's live page showed 16:30 on Friday 9 October, not 20:00
🆓 Free places to work
The Black Diamond (Royal Danish Library)
- 📍 Søren Kierkegaards Plads 1, 1221 Copenhagen K
- 🕐 Monday to Friday 08:00 to 20:00 on the visit page, Saturday 09:00 to 18:00, Sunday 10:00 to 16:00. The live hours page showed 08:00 to 16:30 on Friday 9 October, so check the day
- 🆓 Free entry, "everyone is welcome". Wifi covers the whole building: choose the KB-Guest network and accept the terms
- 🪪 The visit page names an ID card only for the Research Reading Room
Five study spaces share the building, from a silent Student Reading Room to an Open Study Area where group work is allowed. Conversation is not allowed in the reading rooms, so take calls elsewhere. There is a harbour-view cafe in the building.
Copenhagen Main Library (Hovedbiblioteket)
- 📍 Krystalgade 15, 1172 Copenhagen K, near Nørreport
- 🕐 Opening hours are not confirmed here: check bibliotek.kk.dk before you go
- 🆓 Free to visit whatever your nationality, with wifi through the building, according to Visit Denmark. The third floor has study spaces with charging sockets
- 🪪 A library card is only for borrowing, and it needs a Danish CPR number
The ground-floor coffee bar, Democratic Coffee, is the easy way to stay a while. The library's self-service hours work with a Danish health card or the library app, so a visitor should count on staffed hours only.

💶 Cheap paid options
Zoku Copenhagen
- 📍 Amagerfælledvej 108, 2300 Copenhagen S, fifth floor, two minutes from DR Byen Metro station
- 💶 Day pass 115 kr without lunch, 245 kr with lunch, including VAT
- ✅ Rooftop coworking and wifi at 100 Mbps. The lunch pass adds a first drink
- 🗓️ Day passes are first come, first served, and evening or weekend events can be louder
The cheapest published day price found, though it is out in Ørestad rather than the old centre.
Republikken
- 📍 Vesterbrogade 26, 1620 Copenhagen V, about seven minutes on foot from Central Station
- 💶 150 kr for up to four hours, 250 kr for four to eight hours, including VAT. Roughly €20 and €33
- 🕐 Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 (09:00 to 16:00 in July)
- ✅ A seat in the work cafe or a quiet corner, wifi in the building, espresso, coffee and tea, kitchen access
No booking is needed: check in at the front desk and pay by MobilePay when you leave. If you have no MobilePay, ask the desk what else they accept before you rely on it.
Spaces and Regus sell desks and offices by the month. No kroner day price could be read on their pages in October 2026, so ask for a quote.
☕ Cafes
Cafe laptop rules are rarely published. Ask before you unpack, buy something every hour or two, and pick a weekday.
- Democratic Coffee, Krystalgade 15, inside the Main Library: described by Visit Denmark as a place to study, work or read the paper
- Rist, Værnedamsvej 4B, Vesterbro: limited seats, so go early for the window. Filter coffee was 32 kr in a June 2025 guide
- Hart Stefansgade, Julius Bloms Gade 32, Nørrebro: a calm bakery cafe, pastries 36 to 40 kr in the same guide
The last two come from a Roadbook guide dated June 2025 and were not confirmed with the cafes themselves.
📶 Wifi, plugs and noise
- 📶 Black Diamond wifi is open to visitors through KB-Guest, with a terms screen to accept
- 🔌 Sockets are best at the paid spaces. The Main Library lists charging outlets on its third floor
- 🔇 For a video call, Republikken's quiet corners or a Zoku desk beat a library reading room, where talking is banned at the Black Diamond
🚶 A lunch-break walk
Working from the Main Library? Gammeltorv and Nytorv are within walking distance, and both are stops on the Ciceru Copenhagen walk. From Republikken, Vesterbrogade leads towards Rådhuspladsen, where the walk begins.
The full self-guided walk in the Ciceru app is about 3 km and 2.5 hours across 10 quiz stops, from Rådhuspladsen through Christiansborg to Nyhavn, for €7 with a free 500 MB global eSIM. That suits a free afternoon better than a lunch break.
