About this walk

Riga has a habit of putting itself back together. Its merchants' hall was rebuilt from scratch in 1999, its church spire went up again in steel, and its national liqueur was recreated from memory. This self-guided walking tour traces that story of loss and repair through the essential sights of Riga. Everything runs on your phone: a map, 9 stops, and audio and text at each one, with a short quiz to finish every chapter. The route runs from the House of the Blackheads to Alberta Street, about 2 km at your own pace, with no group to keep up with. The tour is available in 7 languages. The walk itself is outdoors; interiors such as the Blackheads museum, the St. Peter's lift and the cathedral charge their own entry. Every booking includes a free eSIM with mobile data, so the map and audio keep working on the street without roaming charges.

  • A great way to discover the hidden gems in Sorrento. It provides history, cultural context and a flavour of the place. We would have missed so much had we wandered round without this valuable guide. Thank you for the research and information.
