About this walk

Salamanca is built from golden sandstone, and its whole old city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, seems to glow with it. This walk reads that stone from top to bottom: a baroque square, a house covered in shells, a Jesuit college, a university facade carved like lace, two cathedrals side by side and a Roman bridge over the Tormes. Everything runs from your phone. You get a clear map of all 7 stops, simple directions through Google Maps, and a short audio story with an interactive quiz at each location. The route runs from the Plaza Mayor to the Roman Bridge, about 2 km on paved streets, mostly gently downhill. Start anytime, pause whenever you like, and explore freely. No groups, no schedules. Audio and text available in 7 languages. And it comes with a free eSIM, redeemable once per account, so your map, directions and audio work from the moment you arrive, with no roaming charges.

  • A great way to discover the hidden gems in Sorrento. It provides history, cultural context and a flavour of the place. We would have missed so much had we wandered round without this valuable guide. Thank you for the research and information.
