Prague has a genuine digital nomad scene, and working here is cheap if you know where to look. The one thing most "best coworking in Prague" lists still get wrong: Paralelní Polis in Holešovice, the famous Bitcoin café and coworking space, closed for good in March 2026 after 12 years, when the money ran out and the landlord no longer wanted crypto activity in the building. This guide covers what actually works now, checked on 24 September 2026.

- 🪪 Want a computer? Show ID for 15 minutes free, or get a reader's card (CZK 60 a year, about €2.50, plus CZK 20 for the plastic card) for 60 minutes and advance booking
Most branches close Sunday, but the Central Library runs a self-service Sunday, which almost no guide mentions.
National Technical Library (NTK), Dejvice

- 🕐 Self-service building access Monday to Friday 08:00 to 22:00, weekends 10:00 to 22:00
- 🆓 Anyone can walk in and use the study spaces free, no registration
- ⚠️ Wifi is the catch: it needs either an eduroam account or NTK's own network, which means registering (CZK 100 a year or CZK 50 for six months, plus ID)
NTK has the nicest desks in the city, but if you just want an hour without registering, bring a hotspot or head to the Municipal Library instead.

🧭 Practical tips
- 📶 Wifi and plugs: free and unlimited at the Municipal Library. NTK is excellent once registered and has the most sockets. Cafés vary, check Mazelab above.
- 🔇 Noise: NTK and library reading rooms are properly quiet. WorkLounge and Locus feel like normal offices. Cafés are cafés, expect chatter.
- 🏙️ Neighbourhoods by working style: Vinohrady is the best all-rounder, home to Cafedu, Locus Workspace and several cafés above. Praha 1 is central but pricier and touristy. Karlín has the startup crowd. Dejvice, around NTK, is quieter and academic, a short metro ride out.
- 🗓️ Czech public holidays, late 2026 to mid-2027: 28 September, 28 October and 17 November 2026, 24 to 26 December 2026, 1 January 2027, Good Friday 26 March and Easter Monday 29 March 2027, 1 and 8 May 2027, 5 and 6 July 2027. Libraries and some coworking spaces close on these dates, check ahead.
🚶 A lunch-break walk
Working at Cafedu, by Muzeum? Walk down Wenceslas Square and along Na Příkopě and Celetná to Old Town Square: about 15 minutes, all downhill, with lunch on the way. From Locus, add ten minutes. From Karlín, tram 3 or 8 gets you to Náměstí Republiky, a five-minute walk from the square.
